DRY SEASON, HYDRO-METEOROLOGICAL DISASTERS REMAIN DOMINANT IN JULY 2013

Floods that often occurred in Indonesia is caused by high intensity of rain and long duration. This flood has caused many families forced to evacuate to a safer place. The second type of disaster that often happens is landslides that occurred 14 times and causing 55 homes damaged, 21 moderately damaged and 71 homes with minor damage.

 

Other disaster that took many casualties is earthquake. A total of 3 earthquakes occurred in July and resulted in 43 people died and affected 6,635 houses were heavily damaged, 3,690 were moderately damaged and 8,995 were with minor damaged. During July 2013 disasters are dominated by hydro-meteorological disasters, yet many victims still falling due to the geological disaster.
