Denpasar (21/08): National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) held disaster exhibition on 7thAPEC Senior Disaster Management Officials Forum (SDMOF) at Kartika Plaza Hotel, Bali. Several government agencies and private organizations participated in the exhibition which took place on August 21st – 22nd2013. This event becomes mode to introduce disaster management tech equipment and products as well as disaster information dissemination.
During the exhibition, BNPB introduce strength-tech equipment needed in emergency response, such as amphibious sealegs boat products and Argo amphibious vehicles. BNPB currently has 7 amphibious boat units, where 5 of themwere given to the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and the rest to be located in BNPB. Logistics equipment and other products that displayed are family kits, family tent, refugee tent, and the blue post tent shown through a short film show. BNPB not only introduce their logistics and equipments but also geospatial products, data and disaster information (DIBI), disaster monitoring, books, as well as disasterdocumentation.
Meanwhile, government agencies joined the event among others Tagana the Ministry of Social Affairs, Crisis Control Center Ministry of Health, Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of West Sumatra Province and BaliProvince, as well as three private organizations.
It is interesting display of products earthquake and tsunami early warning system designed by BPBD West Sumatra Province. Tool, named Tsunami Early Warning System (TEWS) functioned to provide early warning to the people of West Sumatra are potentially affected by the earthquake and tsunami. The tool comes on the different types of sirens based on the level of threat the disaster and the microphone connected to a loudspeaker and every time functioned to inform the warning to the public.
