A Group of 9 state representatives from the National Tsunami Warning Center visited BNPB to learn about the Emergency Operations Center (Pusdalops) at the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) on Wednesday (25/9) at Level IV, BNPB Building, Jakarta. The visit is a part of learning about the chain of early warning information.
At time, the Head of Data BNPB, Agus Wibowo, welcomed and gave exposure on Disaster Management operational center to the representatives. After visiting BNPB, the group is scheduled to visit the National Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency ( BMKG ) and Metro TV.
This visit is a part of the series of workshops on Standard Operating Procedure on Tsunami Early Warning and Emergency Response. 9 state representatives are from Bangladesh, Malaysia, Myanmar, Oman, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor Leste, and Indonesia. The workshop was organized with the support BMKG and UNESCO.
At the end of the visit, the representatives observed the facilities in Pusdalops. The group led by the National Program Office for Disaster Risk Reduction and Tsunami Information Unit UNESCO, M. Ardito Kodijat. Important representatives were present at the visit among others, Laura Kong from the International Tsunami Information Center, Hawaii, USA and Walter Welz from the Asian Broadcasting Union based in Kuala Lumpur.
