BNPB Chairman, Syamsul Maarif, has reported a 5.6 magnitude earthquake impact at 16 km southwest of Aceh Besar to the President. The impact of the earthquake damage Pidie district covering 3 sub-districts namely Tangse sub-districts, Mane sub-district and Geumpang sub-districts.
Based on preliminary data, in the Tangse sub-districts, the victims are: 1 death (a heart attack) and 3 injuries (2 refereed to RS Sigli). Damage: 368 housing units, 9 units of mosques, 8 meunasah units, 13 units of school, 2 bridges, 36 units of shop houses, 1 Pustu, and 3 government offices. It has not been verified on the extent of damage whether are severely damaged, moderately damaged or lightly damaged. There are 5 villages in the Tangse sub-districts which suffered considerable damage, namely Lubok Badeuk, Kawa Pulo, Pulo Sunong, Keude Tangse, and Blang Bungong Village. While data on the damage of Mane sub-districts and Geumpang sub-districts were not reported yet.
Some efforts have been done include setting up tents by BPBD Pidie, distributing logistics, setting up command post at Pidie district office, coordination with officials, Muspida, other SKPD, the military, and the police. Data collection is still on progress. TRC BNPB is heading to Pidie. Current situation is being held a coordination meeting to conduct emergency response.
